Sea Studios Foundation is a powerful team of award-winning filmmakers, scientists and strategic communicators. We’re dedicated to raising awareness of all the ways human life is entwined with the natural environment and motivating action on urgent threats to our planet’s health. Whether a primetime television series for the public or a specialized video targeting business or government leaders, we rely on extensive scientific and public opinion research, work with a vast network of collaborators, and rigorously evaluate everything we do.

Sheila Taylor, Finance
Sheila joined Sea Studios Foundation in January 2008 and serves the Foundation as accounting and financial support manager. Sheila works closely with the production team, senior management and staff to provide organizational and project support from a financial perspective. Bridging the accounting functions, production and management teams, she is responsible for timely financial analysis, reporting and oversight for projects; reporting to funders; and development of financial models and analysis to provide strategic planning tools to facilitate decision making for management.

Sheila ’s professional background includes 8 years as a CPA in public accounting followed by 9 years experience with Warner Bros International Television. As Director of Finance for Warner Bros, her responsibilities encompassed development of cost control strategies, financial impact analysis and budget oversight for 14 international offices serving more than 150 countries.

Most recently, Sheila crossed over to the non-profit arena where she worked with three non-profit organizations in the capacity of Business Manager, Founder and/or CFO. She currently has extensive involvement with the Shakespeare Society of America, a non-profit organization started by her husband’s uncle in 1968.

Growing up in Arkansas, Sheila’s early years introduced her to “sustainable living” before the term existed! Her love for the land and interest in environmental issues sprang from the many happy memories of times spent with her grandparents on a farm with no indoor plumbing and few modern conveniences but lots of places to explore and millions of stars in the night sky.

Sheila’s volunteer activities include restoration work with the Nature Conservancy, special projects with Native American groups and most recently a trip to remote areas in the Zimbabwe bush to assist with AIDS patients and provide health services to infants in isolated villages.

An avid reader, she also enjoys hiking and many kinds of outdoor activities. Sheila and her husband, Terry live in Moss Landing Village and enjoy life by the ocean, walks on the beach, observing the playful ‘resident’ otters, as well as being lulled to sleep by the sound of waves, the fog horn and barking of sea lions.
